PVA Elastic Grinding Stone
■Resilience of PVA sponge automatically aligns different heights of grains' grinding edges when applied to workpiece surface. Leaving no visible scars on the surface, it promises uniform and level polishing with precision.
■The continuous open pores of PVA sponge keep both heat generation and occurrence of clogging at low level during grinding (average porosity is 50~80% in comparison with conventional materials' 30~50%). This allows stable grinding performance maintained throughout long-time continuous operation.
■Our grinding and polishing materials allow successful grinding of hard-to-grind materials that easily generate heat which causes clogging or glazing. Also, by varying its hardness and brittleness, the most suitable setting for optimized performance can be reached for various applications.
■As our materials simplify the conventional process of lapping or buffing works, total cost can be improved by process time reduction or even by process stage saving.

These are grindstones with continuous open pore structure made of silicon carbide grains, PVA resin, and/or thermosetting resin. They are used for polishing various aluminum parts with high precision requirement, such as substrate, spacer, and head-arm in a hard disc drive. They are also used for other components made of relatively soft metals such as copper, brass, or stainless steel.
