At Shima Trading’s Cosmetics Laboratory, cosmetic professionals develop formulations that maximize the appeal of raw materials.
We are one of the first to catch trends in the rapidly changing cosmetics industry, and introduce and propose raw materials based on prescriptions that meet customer needs.
In addition, the Cosmetics Laboratory is equipped with evaluation equipment such as corneometers and other skin measuring instruments, static and dynamic friction measuring instruments, and foam measuring instruments. We are working hard every day to provide the data that our customers need.
We aim to propose high-value-added raw materials centered on experienced experts, and we also support our customers' product development, such as technical cooperation, joint development, and use of equipment.

Pharmaceuticals Laboratory

Business introduction

Pharmaceuticals Laboratory was established in September 2021.
The purpose of the establishment is to provide technical follow-up services to customers by acquiring in-house data and understanding of the characteristics and properties of the pharmaceutical raw materials which we have been handling.
We are conducting research on pharmaceutical raw materials from fundamental to application with three researchers

Now we aim to collect customers' inquiry to establish product formulation ,correspondingly we will provide technial solution which are based on our own knowledge and technology acquisition.

Tribology Laboratory

Business introduction

Tribology measuring instruments (MTM mini-traction measuring instrument, EHD oil film measuring instrument, USV high shear viscometer) manufactured by PCS Instruments in the UK are permanently installed for demonstration and sample testing.
In 2015, we renewed our measuring instrument showroom, which opened in 2008, and installed parts and consumables warehouses to strengthen our after-sales service system.
In 2016, a new UV water sterilization device (HOD system) made by Atlantium, an Israeli company, was newly installed, and operation training and demonstrations has been conducted.

Functional Materials Laboratory

Business introduction

We have opened a functional materials laboratory with the main purpose of developing new anti-corrosion paints. In the future, we plan to develop products (environmentally friendly paints, coating agents for building materials, new materials for infrastructure, etc.) in line with the market. With our experienced advisors, we conduct research and development that matches market needs.
Because it is located in the independent administrative agency Osaka Institute of Industrial Technology in Izumi City, Osaka, it is possible to use various testing machines and conduct advanced analysis and research. We will continue to provide new value-added services such as joint development with business partners and outsourced testing.

Kobe Manufacturing and Analysis Center

Business introduction

In addition to being a pharmaceutical factory that manufactures pharmacopoeia liquid paraffin in small quantities, it is also a quality control center that conducts analytical tests for liquid paraffin, petrolatum, wax, etc.
Regarding pharmacopoeial liquid paraffin, we thoroughly implement quality control based on GMP management in each process from receipt to acceptance and shipment. It also plays an important role in ensuring stable supply as a distribution base.
