EHD Ultra thin film measurement system
Product Name
EHD Ultra thin film measurement system
Using optical interferometry, it is possible to measure the oil film thickness from 2 nm between the glass disc and the steel disc under elastohydrodynamic lubrication region EHD. The optional 3D mapping function enables the overall analysis of the contact surface.

Overview
- Optical interferometry can be used to measure the oil film thickness between steel ball and glass disc coated with chromium and silica films.
- Traction measurements can be made using steel disc.
- Ball and disc are driven by independent DC servomotors.
Characteristics
- Capable of measuring film thickness from 2 to 1,000 nm.
- By using the optional 3D-SLIM (Spacer Layer Imaging Method 3D color mapping function), it is possible to save the film thickness analyzed over the entire contact surface as a 3D image.
- The optional oil cooler cools down the test tank after the test, making it possible to shorten the cleaning time.

Option (3D-SLIM)
An image of the entire contact area is captured with an RGB camera, and the film thickness is calculated from the RGB calibration values.
The calculated film thickness can be displayed as a 3D image using 3D processing software.
